Guidelines for Grantmaking

Overview

The Hunter Hometown Foundation (HHF) was established in 2021 as a private corporate foundation to benefit the communities in which we live and work.  Our mission is to improve the lives of everyone, and we prioritize the underserved, low-income, or at-risk populations in our service areas.  Programs considered must address any or all of the following focus areas:

·   Youth and Education (Including Scholarships and Financial Aid)

·   Animal Rescue

·   Environment and Outdoors

The following areas may also be considered:

·   Efforts to reduce prejudice, bigotry, and hate

·   Those who promote equity, diversity, and inclusion

For those organizations whose overall mission and programs meet the criteria above, it is the intention and strategy of HHF to award grants for unrestricted general operating support, and/or support for organizational capacity-building efforts such as planning, fundraising, organizational assessment, or other relevant efforts to support organizational growth. If an organization’s scope or mission is more broadly defined, funds may still be awarded to support a specific program,  as long as the specific program aligns with one or more of the criteria listed above.

HHF will review funding requests from eligible 501(3) organizations and assign specific funding amounts. Applicants should not request a specific grant amount. The HHF Board will determine funding based on a leadership interview and/or site visit, an organization’s history of program excellence, financial oversight, organizational planning, and intentional organizational capacity building.

Funding Request Process

Funding requests will be accepted by invitation only.  The deadline for submissions is at 5:00 pm EST, 21 days post invitation date, unless otherwise specified. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their requests in advance of the deadline.

Once the Funding Request Form is received, you will be sent an email confirmation and further questions can be directed to Jen Langdon Ramming at jen@bethedrivingforce.org

A meeting with your organization’s leadership team (either in person or via Zoom) will be scheduled after the Funding Request Form has been received.

Final approval and timing of the funding award is decided on a case by case basis. Review and processing of funds will be in accordance with HHF administrative policies and procedures.
